Bethany Meets Samantha Joy

Here's a couple of minutes of footage of Bethany meeting Samantha. It was a fun homecoming!

Better safe than sorry, I suppose...

This outfit was originally given to Bethany when she was born from some good friends of Jennifer's parents who live in England. Notice what the tag says; and I was about to light it on fire!

More Photos and Samantha's Homecoming!

I can't believe Samantha's only a few days old! It feels like she's always been with us, and we can't imagine life without her. Here are a few photos, including some pictures of Bethany meeting her.

Chad with the new girl. I think he has the baby bug.

Tami (Chad's wife) with Samantha. She has the baby bug, too. Cute newborns will do that! We are so blessed to have these guys as friends here.

Mommy enjoying some time with Samantha in the hospital.

Daddy loves sleeping with our new girl!

Allyse loves Samantha, too. She pretty much loves all babies.

Nana (Jennifer's mom) meets Samantha! She was very patient at the airport waiting for her son-in-law change the minivan's tire, delaying her first meeting with her newest granddaughter.

Mommy and Samantha are ready to head home from the hospital!

Kiss! Bethany is a bit concerned about our new addition, but adores her and LOVES to kiss and hug her...and shove pacifiers in her mouth, whether Samantha wants them or not. :-)

Happy family!

Bethany loves to hold Samantha. She is the BEST big sister.

Yep. Proud Nana!

Bethany insisted on eating snack today next to Samantha, who was hanging out on the floor.

Big sister makes sure everything is okay with the squeaking baby in the crib.

Leah meets Samantha!

Bethany (Holladay) meets Samantha. Bethany had such a great time with Leah and Bethany Faith tonight. I think she needed some friends to play with after a very confusing two days with her new sister.

Bethany is enjoying Mommy always being available for lounging on the couch as she recovers!

Nana and Samantha

I don't think there has ever been a cuter post-bath time look.

Introducing Samantha Joy McVeigh

Yes! Samantha Joy McVeigh was born today October 26th, 2009 at 7:59am. She weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches in length. Thanks everyone for praying for us. Here are some photos!
Jennifer before...

So, this is us waiting for a "professional" to admit Jennifer to the hospital. I kid you not, the really nice gal in the E.R. couldn't find Jennifer on her list, and finally said, "Well, I'm not really sure what I'm doing because I don't usually do this, so if you'd like a professional to check you in, you can go back to the admitting area and someone will be there by 6:00am to check you in." We got a good chuckle out of that one.

Jennifer, ready to go!

Photo number one!

Stop poking me!

Yep! 7 lbs. 12 oz.!

Can I keep her? Pleeeeeaaaaase?

Yep, that's my girl! I sure do love her already...

A proud Mommy and Daddy!

Granny sure is proud!

For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes beheld my unformed substance.
In your book were written
all the days that were formed for me,
when none of them as yet existed.
How weighty to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
I try to count them—they are more than the sand;
I come to the end—I am still with you.

-Psalm 139:13-18

Pumpkin Pie!

Happiness is going with Mommy to meet Daddy for lunch at Village Inn by the church and getting pumpkin pie for dessert!

Recent Fun Times

Here are a few photos from some nice down time our family has been able to enjoy in the midst of home improvement projects and preparing for Bethany's baby sister:

The McVeighs at Snowbasin

One quick note: It's taking me a little getting used to shorter mountains here. I really confused a worker at the resort when I was asking about how much snow they would have for a youth event we would have at the top of the mountain there on September 19th. Then I found something out: the top of Snowbasin (where the Olympic downhill events were held in 2002, no slouch of a ski area) is about 9,200 feet in altitude. Dillon (where I lived in middle school and high school and about the) had an elevation of 9,087 feet, and is was a few thousand feet up from there to the top of ski areas. I didn't know it was possible to have good snow for skiing below 9,000 feet!

Bethany loves the creek at our favorite park!

And here's Bethany feeding ducks and geese! She loves to go see the ducks at the park.

Yes, she really did climb up that all by herself; she only got boost on the first step.
